Synopsis – Death Note Light Up The New World

10 tahun setelah konfrontasi antara kira dan l. Sekali lagi, shinigami mengirimkan death note (buku kematian) ke bumi dan karena ini, dunia jatuh ke dalam kekacauan. Tsukuru (masahiro higashide) adalah salah satu anggota dari death note special task force team (tim khusus untuk death note), yang juga terdiri dari 6 peneliti lainnya, termasuk matsuda yang pernah menangani kasus kira pada 10 tahun yang lalu.

Pembunuhan massal yang disebabkan oleh death note terjadi di wall street, as, di shibuya jepang dan di tempat-tempat lainnya.

Seorang detektif terkenal, ryuzaki (sosuke ikematsu), yang merupakan penerus dari l, juga menyelidiki pembunuhan massal itu. Mereka menemukan bahwa 6 death note ada di dunia.

Sebuah virus komputer yang disebut kira menyebar di dunia. Virus itu berisikan pesan yang mengatakan untuk menyerahkan 6 death note.

Orang yang memiliki 6 death note kemudian mengepung dunia. Bentrok pun dimulai antara orang yang ingin kebangkitan kira dan orang-orang yang ingin menghentikannya.
